I am currently a postdoc at the University of Utah. Previously I was at Purdue University where I received my Ph.D. from Purdue University under the guidance Uli Walther.
Email: hunter.simper@utah.edu
Research Interests: Broadly speaking, I work in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry.Â
In particular, some topics I like thinking about include:
Determinantal varieties; more generally ideals of minors and ideals coming from a GL action,
Local cohomology; recently, I've been very interested in homological properties of thickenings,
Stanley-Reisner rings and simplicial complexes,
Bernstein-Sato polynomials and related D-modules.
